I've never bowled before. Where do I start?

Come to social bowls or book a barefoot bowls session. Both are set up for complete beginners, the club can lend you bowls, and experienced members will run you through the basics on the day.

Do I need my own bowls?

No. The club keeps sets you can borrow while you work out whether the game is for you and what size and bias suit you.

What does it cost to join?

Accepted Answer

New bowling members pay $75 for their first year — half the standard Full membership of $150. Dual membership is $50, and non-playing and junior memberships are $20. A $20 Future Building Fund fee applies to Full and Dual memberships.

Question 4

What should I wear?

Flat-soled shoes or bare feet are the only hard requirement, to protect the greens. Pennant and tournaments are played in club uniform; social bowls is neat casual.

Question 5

When is the bar open?

The bar is open during club events and most Fridays from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, with raffles and mini bingo. It's run entirely by volunteers, and EFTPOS is available when attended.

Can I book the club for a private function?

Yes. The clubroom, greens and BBQ are available for barefoot bowls, birthdays, work functions and celebrations. Get in touch through the contact page and we'll sort the details.

Where exactly is the club?

201 Ogilvie Avenue, Echuca. The entrance is via High Street, just past the fire brigade building.

Can I play pennant if I'm a member elsewhere?

Dual membership lets you play social bowls and tournaments at Echuca while your primary registration stays with your other affiliated club. Speak to a Selector about competition eligibility.
